UPDATE: The battle between the new Pacifica and the Sienna is as hot as the outside of Jim Gaffigan’s Hot Pocket. Meanwhile, the Dodge Grand Caravan is as cold as the inside of that same Hot Pocket. Vote now!

Welcome to another edition of Battle of the Base Wheels, where you, the readers, decide which vehicle has the best base wheels. Last time we took a (suburban) safari into the realm of

. From the get-go, it was a tight race between the Expedition and the Yukon. In the end, though, the Expedition pulled away for the win.
Have YOU driven a Ford lately?
Oh hey, Armada. You’re still here?
Today we’re taking a trip to the land of spilled milk and cracker crumbs to see which minivan wears base the best.
Note: I debated whether to include the Town & Country/Grand Caravan twins since they are not long for this world and ultimately decided that if a vehicle is still offered for sale and a build & price tool is available, I will include it.
As always, if you have a suggestion for a future battle, let me know in the comments.
Let the games begin!

Sadly, the Ford Aerostar cannot compete here, because it had three of the best wheels ever on a minivan.

Close battle so far, go pacifica go!

I don’t know how this isn’t a three-way battle between the actual wheels on the list - T&C, Sedona, and Sienna, all of which are pretty sharp.
The other three are wheel covers on steelies, which are never cool.
Went with the Sienna, though the T&C ran pretty hard. I’m surprised that the Kia didn’t run away with it, considering they’re usually very stylish.

I’m torn between the Pacifica and the T&C. I think the T&C wheels are sharp, and would look good on something, but look weird on the van, so maybe they aren’t so good?

I’d have said Pacifica but while they’re good they don’t really suit it.
Sedona for next best.

The Pacifica has actually wheels, too.

I picked the Sedona.
But just because I really like it and we’re getting one later this year

Thought you guys would pick the Chrysler by a landslide even though I like the “boring” Toyota. Looks like I was pleasantly mistaken. Go Sienna go!

At least in the pictures, they’re all actual wheels. You can see the rotor through them and not a steelie.

Damn the Pacifica looks so tragic in base form.
The wheel covers on the Odyssey are atrocious.

Are those actually wheels? The hole there looked like a hole on a steelie. It wasn’t obvious that there was a disc back there.
After a closer look, they are definitely real wheels. There was some serious photo editing going on, though, which made it too uniformly-black around the discs on the Pacifica.
That’s how I can usually tell with a quick glance - the silhouette of a brake disc is surrounded by some light or the disc is reflective if it barely fits in the wheel.

The GC and Odyssey really look like wheel covers on steelies. The Pacifica did at first glance (due to the hole in the caliper, I guess), but apparently it’s not.

I think what you’re seeing is the center opening of the caliper and the pad behind it. Could be mistaken for a steelie hole.

I’m not saying they don’t come with steelies, I believe they do, but just that the pictures on my computer look like a brake rotor and not a steel wheel.

I voted the Grand Caravan. They are honest base model wheels, just hub caps on steelies. They are everything a base model should be.

Zero votes for the Grand Caravan... and it’s been practically 6 hours!
Though those hubcaps truly are incredibly ugly.

Sienna all the way!
Its base wheels look much better in person (i.e. when it’s not a rendering)... There’s a nice amount of concavity which, together with plenty of sidewall, makes them look tough. Reminds me of the police-spec Challenger setup.
Edit:
Speaking of which, have you considered using actual photos of the base cars (search Autotrader for new base model inv.), as opposed to the configurator renderings? I feel the real thing better shows what they actually look like.

I have, but it’s far less time consuming to get them this way. Plus I can easily stick to one color for all the contestants.

Minivans are invisible. They are the Lima Bean of vehicles.
